I revisited this scene from a previous work. This tree stands tall in this open field, somewhat different and set apart from the others… there's something quite beautiful about it's stature.
This was a fun study of the San Clemente pier. I don't usually paint foggy days, but there's a mysterious feel to them as objects disappear into it… and I love the muted tones the fog brings.
A special memory for my dear friends Dave and Julie. Dave commissioned this piece to give to Julie on her birthday as they enter a new season of life together. Julie just retired a few months earlier.
I love looking out at these hills. A peaceful pause along the Hermosa Trail. My grandfather spent a lot of time in the 40s riding his horse out here… I'm sure he enjoyed this same view.
